Bug#109684: Apt fails after upgrade/dist-upgrade to woody/sid

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA1

Package: apt, apt-get

Version: 0.5.3

apt 0.5.3 for linux i386 compiled on Mar 7 2001 19:25:55
Supported Modules:
*Ver: Standard .deb
*Pkg: Debian dpkg interface (Priority 30)
S.L: 'deb' Standard Debian binary tree
S.L: 'deb-src' Standard Debian source tree
 Idx: Debian Source Index
 Idx: Debian Package Index
 Idx: Debian dpkg status file

Problem:

Apt wont run after upgrade/dist-upgrade.

Seems like the packages arent installed in the proper order. The new apt
package is installed before libdb* (v3) and it fails since it cant run
without them. Probably just need to add the proper libdb* (v3) packages
as dependencies to apt to solve it.

Quick and dirty solution has been,

cd /var/cache/apt/archives && dpkg -i libdb*

And apt works again... Its a kind of magic!

Johan.
