Bug#99974: Apt messes up with conflict dependencies?
Hi,
Well, I know have apt refusing to do anything after a dselect
update performed late last night. The error message is:
__> dselect install
Reading Package Lists... Done
Building Dependency Tree... Done
Sorry, but the following packages have unmet dependencies:
libssl0.9.6: Conflicts: libssl but it is not installable
libssl095a: Conflicts: ssleay (< 0.9.2b) but it is not going to be installed
Conflicts: libssl but it is not installable
mozilla-mailnews: proftpd: Conflicts: wu-ftpd but it is not going to be installed
E: Error, pkgProblemResolver::Resolve generated breaks, this may be caused by held packages.
E: Internal Error, problem resolver broke stuff
Some errors occurred while unpacking. I'm going to configure the
packages that were installed. This may result in duplicate errors
or errors caused by missing dependencies. This is OK, only the errors
above this message are important. Please fix them and run [I]nstall again
Press enter to continue.
======================================================================
Please let me know where to put the Status and available files
(I presume you do not want to clutter the BTS with these)
I can accept that this may well be a local issue, and not a
common problem -- in which case I would appreciate advice on how to
correct the problem without reinstalling.
