Re: Bug#100406: apt-get: should allow install's and remove's on same command-line

Please, don't close this bug at least before the synopsis in the
manpage is updated !

Ah, just to check, according to the manpage, the +/- trick is only for
"install", right ?

Well, you're right, I thought the 2 things were linked.

Problem is, I was doing an "apt-get dselect-upgrade" in the first
place, and that usually "apt-get -f dselect-upgrade" does the trick
when something's broken. Shouldn't the "libgdbmg1-dev-" trick be
sufficient for apt-get to solve the issue here ?

What should "apt-get install foobar gnotepad+" mean if installing,
with "foobar" being a (set of) package(s) that would be in the case
where a hint would be needed not to have old gnotepad package removed
(or whathever situation makes this trick useful) ?

Would that not be interpreted as "install gnotepad+ instead", because
of the existence of such a package name ?
