Package: apt
Version: 0.3.16
Severity: normal

Can you put back the example config file that contained most of
the options? Having such a file is most helpful, especially when
one agree to the claim that the man pages are terse and not easy
to follow. The detailed example file helps a lot when one needs
to put only one option at the command line from time to time, for
example the option to put the downloaded files at another dir.

I guess that one motivation to remove the detailed file was that
users tend to use it as their config file in spite the message
that said not to do it. In order to overcome this difficulty I
suggest that there will be 2 example config file: one of them will
be the detailed file that was removed. The other one will be the
current one. Giving these 2 files appropriate names or otherwise
letting users to know why there are 2 config files can solve the
problem that users ignored the message about not to use that file
as their config file.
