Bug#60874: apt doesnt build on mipsel (configure cant determin system)

Hi,
apt doesnt build on mipsel because it cant determin the system type

[...]
checking for ar... ar
checking for library containing gethostbyname... none required
checking for library containing connect... none required
checking system architecture... configure: error: failed: use --host=
make: *** [build-stamp] Error 1

gcc gives - "mipsel-redhat-linux" which isnt exactly what i am running
on but "mipsel-*-linux" should match

PS: If you want i can supply you with an shell account on this
machine which is available on the net - Currently its a very
ugly system - a mixture of redhat aka hardhat and debian packages and
i am trying to replace one by one the redhat files through debian
packages ...
