I have this lines in /etc/apt/sources.list:

deb ftp://ftp.linux.if.usp.br/pub/debian/debian-non-US stable non-US
deb ftp://ftp.linux.if.usp.br/pub/debian/debian-non-US unstable non-US

the first will work, but the second will lock for /debian-non-US/dists/unstable/non-US/binary-i386/Packages.gz/, instead of 
/debian-non-US/dists/unstable/non-US/main/binary-i386/Packages.gz and others (contrib, non-free...),
this is because of a change in the file tree.
