Hm, terminal emulators as in? FWIW I ran this connecting with modem from
Win98 (CRT), to one Debian 2.0 machine, telnetting over second Debian 2.1
machine, to the final machine (Debian 2.1).

I don't really care about the number, just print it correctly, either:

Need to get 0b/105kb of archives. After unpacking those, 168kb will be used. 

Or:

Need to get 0b/105kb of archives. After configuring everything, 1001kb will
be used. 

It'd be nice if it stayed in one line, but that isn't really important.
