Scott,

To make the version printout in the apt-get help header work right you
need to edit configure.in each time before you build 

dnl Set up automake
AM_INIT_AUTOMAKE(apt,0.0.10)
AM_CONFIG_HEADER(config.h include/apt-config.h)
ACLOCAL="$ACLOCAL -I ." 

Change the version in AM_INIT_AUTOMAKE. Check in the changed file so we
all keep together :>
