Bug#26520: apt confused about dependencies
Package: apt
Version: 0.1.5
apt is giving messages about dependency problems with jdk1.1, but I
don't see what's wrong.
In /var/lib/dpkg/status:
Package: jdk1.1
Status: install ok installed
Version: 1.1.6v2-1
Replaces: jdk1.1-runtime
Depends: lesstifg (>= 19980310), libc6, xlib6g (>= 3.3-5), xpm4g (>=
3.4j-0)
Conflicts: jdk1.1-runtime
Package: jdk1.1-dev
Status: install ok not-installed
Package: jdk1.1-runtime
Status: purge ok not-installed
In /var/lib/dpkg/available:
Package: jdk1.1-dev
Version: 1.1.6v2-1
Depends: lesstifg (>= 19980310), libc6, xlib6g (>= 3.3-5), xpm4g (>=
3.4j-0), jdk1.1 (= 1.1.6v2)
Package: jdk1.1
Version: 1.1.6v2-1
Depends: lesstifg (>= 19980310), libc6, xlib6g (>= 3.3-5), xpm4g (>=
3.4j-0)
It looks ok to me, but I still get:
Sorry, but the following packages are broken - this means they have
unmet dependencies:
jdk1.1-dev: Depends:jdk1.1
I'm not sure if there is really a problem with apt, or if there's
something wrong with JDK dependencies that I'm not seeing, but in any
case, apt is not helping me find the problem. All the version numbers
match up, yet it insists the dependency is not satisfied.
