I don't think the information dpkg gives is fundamentally better. It only
tells you that at the present moment wmaker conflicts with wmsound. It
doesn't say that there is no possible version of wmaker that doesn't
conflict and it doesn't say that wmsound -needs- wmaker.
The only reason you are interested in it is because it is what you are
used to, I doubt a J Random User will care either way.
And of course the usual disclaimer, apt-get is only a simple command line
tool it is not intended to be the end-all of package management and it is
not a substitude for a comprehensive gui.
