## steps to reproduce

1. Right click desktop, select "Desktop Settings..."
(2 error windows popped at the same time, says

Operation was canceled
```

2. Change wallpaper, nothing happens
3. Change wallpaper "style" to "None", nothing happens
4. Change "Color" to "Solid" and pick a color, nothing happens

xfdesktop was launched with `xfdesktop -e` and piped to a log file, but  the log file is empty.
