Hi Philippe, thanks for your inquiry. The default configuration is there for
security reason so anonymous people with physical access don't have direct
access to the user list. If you're in a situation where it doesn't matter,
then you're obviously free to tune it.

If you have multiple installations to manage, you should be able to automate
that by dropping a file directly in /etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf.d to override
the default.
