Bug#1068407: xfce4-terminal: processes sleep after a while when switching to a different workspace
Package: xfce4-terminal
Version: 1.1.1-1
Severity: normal
This is a weird bug, and I have no idea how to locate the source. I'm
running in an Xfce4 environment (xfce4-session, xfce4-panel,
xfce4-screensaver, xfce4-terminal and various other applications such
as firefox) on a Debian testing machine. I have four workspaces on my
desktop. If I start a long-running process in a terminal, for example
an sbuild, it runs absolutely fine. But if I switch to a different
workspace, it seems that the process just freezes - when I return to
the workspace some time later, it continues from where it was. This
makes it impossible to reliably have long-running jobs in a terminal.
This behaviour started relatively recently (probably within the last
month or so). I've tried upgrading xfce4-terminal to 1.1.3-1 (rebuilt
for debian/testing), but while it seemed to work better for a little
while, it soon started doing the same thing.
Do you have any idea what might be causing this? It might not be due
to xfce4-terminal itself, of course.
Thanks!
Julian
