Bug#1020516: i386: nothing but a blinking underscore at the top left
Package: lightdm-gtk-greeter
Version: 2.0.8-2+b1
Severity: important
X-Debbugs-Cc: karogyoker2+debbug@gmail.com
Dear Maintainer,
Today I have run a apt dist-upgrade on my debian testing installation.
I rebooted the system, but when I should get the login screen for user
name and password, all I get is a blinking underscore at the top left corner.
If I try to switch tty with shift+alt+Function keys I see the console login
prompt ("debian login:") for a moment, then I only can see that
underscore again.
I have connected to the PC via a serial cable and now I'm typing this
via the screen command.
In /var/log/lightdm/seat0-greeter.log 2 critical errors and 1 error.
10:32:01.041: _gtk_css_ease_value_new_cubic_bezier: assertion 'x1 <= 1.0' failed
10:32:01.042: _gtk_css_array_value_new: assertion 'content != NULL' failed
../../../../gtk/gtkcssstylepropertyimpl.c:87:gtk_css_style_property_register: assertion failed: (initial_value != NULL)
The PC doesn't have SSE2. It is an Athlon XP. Might not be relevant but
this have caused issues several times in the past.
