Bug#984693: thunar: umount /dev/sdX in thunar AND in xfce w/ lightdm by right-click stalls whole windows session and umount via CLI in terminal is necessary

Package: thunar
Version: 1.8.4-1
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

1st) What led up to this situation?
I try to umount via right-click onto USB-Dongle symbol on desktop in xfce w/
lightdm window manager AND
also via right-click in thunar on mentioned usb dongle listed under devices in
same window session.

2nd) What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or ineffective)?
Since the way executed in step 1) stalles/blocks the whole xfce window session
after waiting for around 1-3 minutes,
only a umount on console helps me out by Alt-Ctrl-F1, login as root and umount
/dev/sdX as shown in /etc/mtab.

3rd) What was the outcome of this action?
Device can be umounted this way successfully, by switching back to my window
session with Alt-Ctrl-F7, the actual window session is working again, except
the mouse pointer is no longer shown/visible.
So a logout/restart is necessary.

4th) What outcome did you expect instead?
I expect that the umount also works within a windows session. All these steps
result in the same behaviour, regardless the used hardware. I tried them all on
different hardware combination, it is all the same thereon.
I also expect the mouse pointer to be still shown after switching back.
