I'm having similar issues. After using
either `dm-tool lock` or
`light-locker-command -l`, the screen turns off. I can unlock the
screen by typing my password and hitting enter, so the lock screen

functional, just not visible.
Also, if I switch to a different VT the screen turns on. After
doing
this and switching back to VT8, the screen remains on and
lightlocker is
