Hi Mark, could you solve the issue? I've got the same issue on my Thinkpad X1, which is quite annoying. Doing some research, I am pretty sure that this is related to libinput, as mentioned in this Ubuntu bug report on Launchpad: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xfce4-settings/+bug/1758023 I.e., the problem also occurs with other devices than the trackpoint.
