After submitting the report, I checked the mount command to make sure it was ok to remove the drive and found that the drive was actually mounted to /media/usb0. I was able to browse the files on it, although I did not try to write to it. Thunar was able to follow the /media/usb0 path and see the files, but clicking on the device name on the left listing still caused Thunar to report the error.
