The error dialogue occurs here consistently when a user ejects
a removable medium; but this is PCManFM 0.9.10 in Wheezy.
Screenshot of the dialogue attached.
The device has a kernel identity such as /dev/sdc1 and a udev
assigned symlink such as /dev/SanDiskCF1. Can the problem
come from the user having permission to eject the symlink but not
to eject the root owned /dev/sd?? ? If so, I wonder whether it
can be solved by udev assigning the symlink device to a suitable
group.
