Alright, reading the error message again, `/usr/bin/X` is not installed
as it is in `xserver-xorg` `lightdm` only recommends.

1. Is that due to that LightDM can also be used from remote?
2. Since GDM can start fine without `/usr/bin/X`, LightDM should also be
able to?

Please proceed as you want with this report. I am sorry for the noise.

At least users will find something on the WWW when searching for the
error message. ;-)

Thanks,

Paul
