[Pkg-xfce-devel] Bug#687029: xfce4-terminal: wrong characters show in terminal
Package: xfce4-terminal
Version: 0.4.5-1
Severity: normal
Tags: l10n
Terminal oriented applications like man show strange characters.
In man pages, instead of hyphen, three black <?> symbols appear.
In aptitude question marks in hexagon delimit the screen.
This happens only in xfce4-terminal, not in urxvt, uxterm or
evilvte (to rule out libvte).
I also tried different locale settings, my default is below and
different fonts, my default being inconsolata
LANG=it_IT.UTF-8
LANGUAGE=
LC_CTYPE="it_IT.UTF-8"
LC_NUMERIC=POSIX
LC_TIME="it_IT.UTF-8"
LC_COLLATE="it_IT.UTF-8"
LC_MONETARY="it_IT.UTF-8"
LC_MESSAGES=POSIX
LC_PAPER="it_IT.UTF-8"
LC_NAME="it_IT.UTF-8"
LC_ADDRESS="it_IT.UTF-8"
LC_TELEPHONE="it_IT.UTF-8"
LC_MEASUREMENT="it_IT.UTF-8"
LC_IDENTIFICATION="it_IT.UTF-8"
LC_ALL=
Finally I am running terminal in openbox.
