I have the same problem, also with xfce.
In my case, the hibernate command (version 2.0+15+g88d54a8-1),
unloads/reloads ehci_hcd on suspend/resume, which is what my keyboard is
attached to.
In /etc/hibernate/blacklisted-modules it says
ehci_hcd 2.6.0 2.6.14
Even though I use a newer kernel (3.2.0-3-amd64), it still does this.
After commenting out this line, the keyboard autorepeat settings are
preserved after suspend/resume.
The autorepeat settings are still lost when hot unplugging/replugging
the keyboard, which IMO, in that case, should be reapplied by xfce or
other. But that is a matter of opinion.
I assume (at least in my case) it is also a bug in hibernate, which
maybe can't parse the new Linux 3.x version format. But I leave it to
someone else to judge that.
