Do you have some hints how you can tell X leave core files behind when using
lightdm?
http://x.debian.net/howto/use-gdb.html misses lightdm specific info.

I suggest you contact the relevant maintainers and/or upstream authors,
and you send us a patch (debcheckout xorg).
