i'm sorry i didn't respond or follow further with this issue as i didn't 
want to bother you any further but yes, now that i look at it it is the 
same issue

i forced an update of the packages (with no ill effect so far) and the 
issue went away so i am guessing that package update did indeed fix the 
issue
