Both times. When I log in, for a short time my xfce-wallpaper is
displayed (Xfce manages the Desktop) but then it is changing to another
one (Xfce does not manage the desktop anymore).

Try freedroidRPG (freedroidRPG -f for fullscreen and OpenGL,
freedroidRPG -n -f for fullscreen and SDL) and freedink (freedink).
Setting iceweasel to fullscreen (F11) nothing happen with the desktop.

Don't know if I understood your right here.
I usually give Xfce the control over the desktop before logging out.
My logout settings are
General:
Display chooser on login YES
Automatically save session on logout YES
and
Prompt on logout YES
Advanced:
All NO
