Not a big deal, but this way it throws a sensible error message;
otherwise it looks that xlock is the only option (the error message
now is xlock: no such file or directory)

It's the last fallback option anyway, so the alternative is leaving
the screen unlocked... of course there's no need of a package
dependency, people will have to willingly install it, so they will be
conscious of it shortcomings.
The best solution would be to have it configurable, but I think it's
overkill - it's just locking the screen, every available program that
does it should be ok.
