Setting an ACPI alarm requires root privileges, and AFAIK there is no
existing infrastructure to support setting of alarm timers for other
users.
As Orage stores the alarms in quite portable ICal files, you could use
these files to copy the alarms to your cellphone, PDA, iPod etc., so
that you hear the alarm even when you are not beside your computer.
