Package: xfce4-mixer
Version: 4.2.2-1
Severity: normal

xfce4-mixer does not use alsa, but only the oss mixer device. i tried to
unload alsa's oss modules and started xfce4-mixer (to see, if
xfce4-mixer has a runtime autodetection, and if it has one, if something
is wrong with it) but then i cannot chose any mixer device.
/usr/share/doc/xfce4-mixer/README says that the configure script choses
the "best" mixer backend or the user can sepcify one at compile time.
perhaps you could build packages like xfce4-mixer-alsa/-oss if there's
really no runtime autodetection possible.
