Bug#1123509: xterm: various issues with the U+FE0F VARIATION SELECTOR-16 (VS16) character after emoji

The U+FE0F variation selector breakage seems to be even more fun:

printf 'Hello, Bug \u2642\uFE0F\n'

After selecting this output (including the emoji) and deselecting it,
the selected text is displayed in double width characters. Switching
between virtual consoles triggers this bug, too.

It requires "TrueType Fonts" to be off, switching it on fixes the
output, switiching it off shows double width ascii, again.
