Bug#1123509: xterm: various issues with the U+FE0F VARIATION SELECTOR-16 (VS16) character after emoji
Another difficulty between the terminal and applications is coloring:
what happens if the coloring changes between the emoji and the VS16?
For instance, if VS16 is taken into account, when grepping for "foo."
in Mutt or with grep --color, where the "." matches an emoji, which
is followed by VS16?
