Bug#1120988: libxkbcommon0: VMware and Omnissa-Horizon (VDI) close window if mouse gets focus

Package: libxkbcommon0
Version: 1.12.3-1
Severity: important
Tags: upstream
X-Debbugs-Cc: d.schroeter@gmx.de

Dear Maintainer,

after I switch to version 1.12.3-1 (from 1.7.0-2.1) I have problems with
VMWare Workstation (tested 17.6.4 and 25H2) and Omnissa-Horizon-Client (version
2506).
If the Window gets mouse focus they stop.

In omnissa you see the message
Xlib: extension "MIT-SCREEN-SAVER" missing on display ":3.0".

(horizon-client:32404): Gdk-WARNING **: 14:51:17.731: The program 'horizon-
client' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadValue (integer parameter out of range for operation)'.
  (Details: serial 5680 error_code 2 request_code 135 (XKEYBOARD) minor_code 8)
  (Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
   that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
   To debug your program, run it with the GDK_SYNCHRONIZE environment
   variable to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
   backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)

I found upstream bugreport with MR 293
https://github.com/xkbcommon/libxkbcommon/issues/888#issuecomment-3463515692
which should fix the problem. I didn't test.

Also the problem can be mitigated if you switch again(!) to an us-keyboard if
you have a different.

After I downgraded
========================================
[DOWNGRADE] libxkbcommon-x11-0:amd64 1.12.3-1 -> 1.7.0-2.1
[DOWNGRADE] libxkbcommon0:amd64 1.12.3-1 -> 1.7.0-2.1
[DOWNGRADE] libxkbregistry0:amd64 1.12.3-1 -> 1.7.0-2.1
========================================
both programs are working fine again.

Can you try MR293?

Thanks for you maintaining libxkbcommon
