Bug#1107567: xorg: Crash during power management

Package: xorg
Version: 1:7.7+24

Upon trying to run xfce4-power-manager OR waiting for the screen to turn itself off on an old MSI netbook, Xorg crashes with a segmentation fault:

I do not know how to provide a better backtrace on Debian; tips are welcome.

I see a similar backtrace at https://forum.manjaro.org/t/cannot-successfully-install-zetar/177128 but the thread has no more info.
