Bug#1027791: Unable to run X server since 22.3.1-1 upgrade

Hi all,

I'm confused as I've been running bookworm since it was testing and
now it's become stable with version 22.3.6-1+deb12u1 of this package,
yet still "Unable to run X server" bug exists?  Why's that considered
stable?  It sounds critical to me... I've avoided upgrading this package
because of this bug and still have 22.2.0-1 installed, but it's
increasingly getting in the way of upgrading or installing other packages.

I don't understand what it's even for, OpenGL API -- DRI modules?  I
thought OpenGL was like for add-on video card or something? but this is
just an old laptop with integrated Intel graphics.  I guess it's being
used somehow because "glxinfo" prints out a bunch of things, such as:

    Device: Mesa Intel(R) HD Graphics 4000 (IVB GT2) (0x166)

and if I try to remove the package, like everything depends on it.  So
am I really stuck on 22.2.0-1 still until this bug is squashed or did I
misconfigure something?

Thanks
