Hi,
we (NX upstream devs) did some experimenting today with "pkg-config --exists xkbcomp" and it failed on our build system. 

The reason was that libxkbfile-dev was missing on the system.
Without libxkbfile-dev, "pkg-config --exists xkbcomp" exits with a non-zero exit code. 

With libxkbfile-dev, "pkg-config --exists xkbcomp" exists with exit code 0.
Please consider adding libxkbfile-dev under Depends: of bin:pkg x11-xkb-utils. Thanks!
