Bug#1018216: xwayland: Impossible to resize column widths in the LibreOffice spreadsheet (localc) by dragging a mouse
Package: xwayland
Version: 2:1.20.11-1+deb11u1
Severity: normal
X-Debbugs-Cc: debbug.xwayland@sideload.33mail.com
In the localc GUI the way to resize a column is to hover the pointer
over the divider/boundary line between two columns until “←→” appears,
click, and drag left or right. When clicking and holding, dialog
shows the current width, but dragging is ineffective. The pointer does
not keep a grasp on the divider/boundary line.
The only resizing action that works with the mouse is to double click
on the divider line, which results in whatever width fits the
text. This is not always the ideal size.
Workaround:
There is a workaround but it’s very cumbersome. You must right click
on the column label and choose “column width…” to hand-type a size. If
you don’t like the results, you generally have to repeat that trial &
error process several times until it’s right.
