FWIW, I can reproduce the same behaviour with a system with the
following:

00:02.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: Intel Corporation UHD Graphics 620 [8086:5917] (rev 07) (prog-if 00 [VGA controller])

after upgrading mesa packages from 20.3.5-1 to the current one in
unstable, 21.2.1-2. I could not test the intermediate experimental
uploaded packages to more ping pointing the issue.

That said, the behaviour seems not reproducible on each system, for
instance it does not show up (for me) on a system with

00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation 3rd Gen Core processor Graphics Controller (rev 09)
