Bug#904880: Input devices crash often on KDE Plasma in Debian stretch on AMD Ryzen 7

Package: xserver-xorg

Severity: grave

Dear package-maintainers! I identified the following problem on my Debian stretch system:

My hardware configuration is a recent AMD Ryzen 7 chipset with amd64 Debian stretch installed. I have a NVIDIA type GeForce GT 710 graphics card which i am using with the NVIDIA driver. With the nouveau driver it was not working in a stable way. I used to use GNOME and it was working satisfactorily, but then i had a complete system fail, which made me reinstall everything onto a KDE Plasma desktop. Now, the input devices crash regularly. Mostly, when i am letting the computer doze awake it happens after some time. Also sometimes after wakeup from standby it happens after some minutes. In GNOME my input devices were not crashing till the complete system fail. I also introduced shortly before the complete system fail a powerline network adapter to increase the speed of my home network. Otherwise, i cannot imagine what else could have contributed to the current situation of my input devices hanging themselves often. Other than the input devices no threads seem to be concerned. The system continues to run, but of course i cannot interact with it anymore by keyboard or mouse and i have to restart.

Furthermore i tried to file the bug report with the Debian bug reporting tool under KDE Plasma and it failed to start even for configuration.

Thanks for your help in advance.

Many greetings, Thomas Korimort.
