It looks as if the patch works around a bug in Chromium which I guess
explains why I don't have trouble with other applications. But, thank
you for the pointer, I had carelessly missed the reference to the
upstream report. I now tried the current ctwm 4.0.2 which looks to
already have the patch and Chromium is working much better with it.
(Debian packages 3.7 so I built from git.)
