See #176734. > $ exit #leaves the window title as dyy@jidanni6 BAD Apparently your shell's PS1 leaves the xterm title alone. You may want to change that, look in /etc/skel/.bashrc how to do this. Alternatively, you can stop programs running in your xterm from messing with the window title, look for "allowTitleOps" in the xterm manpage. In any case, there is nothing else xterm can do here. If it were to restore the window title every time a child of your shell terminates, the purpose of programs like xtitle and xtermcontrol would be defeated.
