This bug blocks improvement in other many packages. So while this bug
is for sure unimportant for libxft alone,
it has some importance for the Debian project at large: there are some
important packages (lipango, libfontforge and their dependencies) that
would benefit from this small fix.
It would be great if would reconsider and either upload the fix
yourself or ACK the NMU on mentors. (#887595)
