Adding this seems to prevent nouveau from crashing for me: pmakholm@pmakholm:~$ cat /etc/modprobe.d/nouveau.conf options nouveau noaccel=1 runpm=0 nofbaccel=1 modeset=1 pmakholm@pmakholm:~$ I have not investigated further, but I expect that is is just one of them that are needed to prevent the crahs.
