X broke for me, too -- the Intel driver somehow isn't autodetected anymore,
which leads to using some unaccelerated driver (which breaks e.g. OpenGL
pretty badly).

Xorg -configure loads the Intel driver, but it doesn't detect any cards.
Forcing the intel driver in xorg.conf (as in the quoted text) remediates the
problem.

Shouldn't this be RC?
