Bug#832476: xserver-common: "Broadcast RGB" auto fails on Intel HD + DisplayPort
Package: xserver-common
Version: 2:1.18.4-1
Severity: normal
Tags: newcomer
Dear Maintainer,
This has been a problem earlier with the intel driver. If "Broadcast RGB" was
set to auto, my screen connected via displayport was set to limited color space
(16-235).
I changed this by running "xrandr --output DP1 --set "Broadcast
RGB" "Full""
Somewhen later this was fixed in the driver and the command wasn't required
anymore.
However without the intel driver now, this command seems to be required again.
The display name is now DP-1 instead of DP1:
xrandr --output DP-1 --set "Broadcast RGB" "Full"
It would be better of course if the autodetection was fixed at first, but I
don't know how any of this works.
I don't think there is any DisplayPort device that requires limited color space
(Or DP-HDMI-Converters maybe?)
Intel Haswell i5-4690K
Intel HD 4600 graphics.
~$ xrandr --verbose
