Bug#822438: libx11-6: xlib does not support en_HK.UTF-8 even installed
Package: libx11-6
Version: 2:1.6.2-3
Severity: important
Tags: l10n
Dear Maintainer,
When LC_CTYPE=en_HK.UTF-8, X applications fail to set the locale as
demonstrated below:
[michael@server ~]$ locale -a
C
C.UTF-8
en_DK.utf8
en_GB.utf8
en_HK.utf8
en_ZA.utf8
POSIX
zh_CN.utf8
zh_HK.utf8
zh_TW.utf8
[michael@server ~]$ LC_CTYPE=en_GB.UTF-8 xterm
[michael@server ~]$ LC_CTYPE=en_HK.UTF-8 xterm
Warning: locale not supported by Xlib, locale set to C
[michael@server ~]$
Therefore, I have to set another LC_CTYPE in order for X applications to work
properly.
