This is absolutely true of course (I personally use -cpu host), but
IMHO there should be more graceful handling of the situation, falling
back to something that will almost certainly work.

For the sake of completeness, the configurations that fail still fail
with the same error as before:

   LLVM ERROR: Do not know how to split the result of this operator!
