Package: xserver-xorg Version: 1:7.7+7 Severity: important Dear Maintainer, After updating the Xorg packages from Stable to Testing xorg will no longer start and bring up the desktop. If I run the script to set the resolution as part of launching the display manager the gtk-greeter loads momentarily and then crashes immediately & repeatedly as apparently Xorg then restarts. Logs seem to indicate that the display manager cannot find a display to use. I am unable to determine if this is a problem with the ATI drivers. Still using display manager from stable so there should be no problem there. -- Package-specific info: -- System Information: Debian Release: jessie/sid APT prefers proposed-updates APT policy: (992, 'proposed-updates'), (991, 'stable-updates'), (550, 'testing'), (550, 'stable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 3.2.0-4-686-pae (SMP w/1 CPU core) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages xserver-xorg depends on: ii libc6 2.19-10 ii x11-xkb-utils 7.7~1 ii xkb-data 2.12-1 ii xserver-xorg-core 2:1.16.0-2+b1 ii xserver-xorg-input-evdev [xorg-driver-input] 1:2.9.0-2 ii xserver-xorg-input-mouse [xorg-driver-input] 1:1.9.0-1+b3 ii xserver-xorg-video-ati [xorg-driver-video] 1:7.4.0-2 ii xserver-xorg-video-mach64 [xorg-driver-video] 6.9.4-1+b3 ii xserver-xorg-video-modesetting [xorg-driver-video] 0.9.0-1+b1 ii xserver-xorg-video-r128 [xorg-driver-video] 6.9.2-1+b2 ii xserver-xorg-video-radeon [xorg-driver-video] 1:7.4.0-2 Versions of packages xserver-xorg recommends: ii libgl1-mesa-dri 8.0.5-4+deb7u2 xserver-xorg suggests no packages. -- no debconf information -- debsums errors found: sh: 1: /usr/sbin/dpkg-divert: not found
