Bug#734081: xserver-xorg-video-intel testing black screen

Version: 2:2.21.15-2+b1

Still a black screen.

ctrl-alt-backspace no longer works, so I have to power off to test it.  I've tried every option I could find, I don't know who hides this stuff.

Anyway, Xorg log again has no errors

GLX: Initialized DRI2 GL provider or screen 0
intel(0): setting screen physical size to 270 x 203

Last time this happened a couple years ago, it was a modesetting thing so... but I'm not really sure what to do with it.

I don't know, I mean, it was working, and now its not and X log shows no error messages... it looks like a mode setting error, and that error success thing... I've tried with and without fbdev, vesa and modesetting modules.  If they're missing sometimes there's an error but with them and it still does the black screen.

Using VT number 7
Falling back to old probe method for vesa
Falling back to old probe method for modesetting
Falling back to old probe method for fbdev
Loading submodule fbdevhw

intel(0) [DRI2] Setup complete
DRI driver i915
Allocated new frame buffer 1024x768 stride 4096 tiled

from dmesg:

agpgart-intel 0000:00:00.0 Intel 945 GM Chipset

[drm] memory usable from graphics device = 256M

i915 0000:00:02.0 fb0 inteldrmfb frame buffer device

I don't remember an xserver-xorg-video-modesetting driver, I feel like this is a modesetting thing, a conflict between that and the intel driver or something.  I've gotten that XIO, I think it was error 11 sometimes but I've never seen it in .xsession errors like that.

Need some more information about your setup, session scripts, X log,
dmesg, etc.

Cheers,
