Bug#735927: dvmt vs linux

Found these on the internet:

Will DVMT always get the memory requested?
DVMT may not always get the memory being requested. It is up to the
operating system to decide whether the request for additional memory
will be granted or not. DVMT allows the operating system to make this
important decision based on availability of system memory resources and
other requests it may be receiving.

So it should not be die with an error message "no space left on device".

When set to Fixed Mode , the graphics driver will
reserve a fixed portion of the system memory as graphics memory. This
ensures that the graphics processor has a guaranteed amount of graphics
memory but the downside is once allocated, this memory cannot be used
by the operating system even when it is not in use.

But when i set it to fixed mode, it crashed, so it is likely it tried
to allocate more memory. (please see: email Date: Sat, 18 Jan 2014
