Dear Maintainer,

On newer Radeon cards from the Southern Islands and Northern Islands
family, Xorg does not really work "out of the box" due to missing
libglamor support in the ddx and missing libglamor.

The libglamor package even exists as a Debian repository as an unreleased
version and recompiling the ddx with this package and --enable-glamor
even works, so why force me to do all of this myself and have apt remove
all of my xorg installation every time X gets some update, just because
the maintainer will only look after the ubuntu branch of that package?
If you care about this and want to look after this driver (and the
glamor package) in Debian, I'm sure that'll be appreciated.

Cheers,
Julien
So the first step would be creating an ITP bug, finding out what makes the
unpublished code unfit for upload, fixing that and looking for a sponsor?

Jan

radeonsi with glamor-egl has been in Ubuntu since September. Shouldn't it be possible to get that into experimental?
