Is xserver-xorg-video-sis removed from debian? why? alternatives?

Loongson-2F mini-pc uses SIS graphics, but on unstable the current
version for xserver-xorg-video-sis is 1:0.10.4-1:

% aptitude versions xserver-xorg-video-sis
Package xserver-xorg-video-sis:
i A 1:0.10.4-1 unstable 750

The video driver depends on xorg-video-abi-12, which is provided only
by an old Xorg, which is no longer in the repos, 2:1.12.4-6.2+b2:

% aptitude versions xserver-xorg-core
Package xserver-xorg-core:
i A 2:1.12.4-6.2+b2

I filed a bug about it:

http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=726839

But it seems the problem is kind of known since the package hadn't
gotten to testing for exactly the same problem according to:

http://packages.qa.debian.org/x/xserver-xorg-video-sis.html

So I'm wondering if you guys are dropping SIS Xorg drivers support.
If so, then what alternatives are left for SIS hardware owners? Also,
why would the drop happen? Lack of interest, or no longer supported
by upstream?

Thanks,
